Pack Story (version 2)

Chapter 1- Sparrow

As I bushed threw the bushes on a high mountain ledge I looked down upon a vast valley. The valley was mainly forest, with streams, waterfalls, lakes and occasional meadows. The land looked perfect for the pack to claim; although I had no clue as to if anyone had already set claim on it. But at that moment it didn’t really seem important to me. After long months of traveling through the mountain range my pack had finally found a place to live, at least I hoped.
A cold breeze began to blow, taking the golden leaves of the trees with it, making them dance in the air around me. I smiled then looked back at the wolves how had followed me to the ledge, my pack.
A large gray wolf walked up to me, his eyes showed the hunger he was trying to hide. I lifted my head up as he approached and when he was standing a few feet in front of me I calmly looked at him “Yes, Shinhan?”
“Sparrow, do you mind if we go hunt? I’m starving, and this place is loaded with prey… please?” He asked me.
I rolled my eyes. “Shinhan you’re always hungry… but yes I suppose we can all go and hunt.”
“Thanks!” He shouted over his shoulder as he took off down the mountain slope to the bright valley below.
The other pack members followed him, I let them go, knowing of their hunger. Once they were all out of sight I took a different path down the mountain side. Looking up at the hues of leaves, and listening to the crunching sound of them under my paws; but a cold breeze quickly blew again. It reminded me of the fast approaching winter, and of its future harshness.
I followed a deer path down to a small creek bed. After giving a quick glance around I walked carefully across the rocky shore to the water. Lowering my head, I took a drink of the water. Once my thirst was satisfied I walked back up the rocky shore. I lay down under a maple tree and rolled over onto my back to stare up at its golden crimson leaves.
“Yes…” I whispered to myself. “I believe this is where the pack belongs… this shall be our home.”

Still pretty good.

Chapter 2- Shinhan

I walked along an old deer trail, hoping to find some sign of prey. A recent rain made the dirt path litered with mud. It grabbed at my paws, getting them dirty and in some cases the mud grabbed onto my paw, threatening to lock it's grip. But I ignored it, for my focus was catching prey and my growling stomach wouldn't let me forget it. The path soon gave up to a lush meadow, full of tall wild grass. I scanned it, for any sign of a herd of deer but found none. I sighed but went to check the meadow anyway, knowing the tall grass would surely attract the attention of rabbits.

I stopped as I heard the movement of grass nearby. I looked around and saw the grass ahead of me moving around. I lifted my head, making sure it wasn't just the wind. Then began to stalk upon the creature. I moved slowly, as to not startle it with the movement of the grass and when I was within range I punced. My paws landed on the back of the rabbit, pinning it to the ground. I bit into it's neck and held my jaw clamped shut until it died. I released my jaws from the animals throat once it went limp, it's blood covering the fur around my jaws. I looked around the picked up my catch and trotted off the meadow.

I took a different route through the trees, not feeling like losing my paws to the mud. I stopped as I came upon a large boulder. I looked around then leaped up onto the cold gray surface and laid down to eat my meal.

"Shinhan! Shinhan!" came a voice, shouting at me from somewhere nearby. I growled, Can't even get a decent bite of food without being interupted.. i thought. I turned my gaze to the trees off to my left, the direction of the deer path. I saw a wolf bounding over a small rise before they fell, there paw getting stuck in the thick mud. "Ugh!" I heard the wolf grunt. I couldn't help but chuckle at their clumsiness.

The wolf got up and straightened their fur before resuming their sprint towards me. "Shinhan! You need to come quick! ralf spotted another wolf pack!" The wolf barely gave time for me to blink before he bolted off again. I growled looking down at my food. "This had better be good.." I muttered before jumping off the rock and running in the direction the wolf had come.

There will always be some wolves in here that I won't describe what they look like or say their name.. they are/will be considered "extras" xD they will mostly either be rival wolves or a wolf in the pack that doesn't really exist.. such as i just needed someone to do something but didn't know who should.. just as an fyi on things..

and that's what creats plot twists am I right?

Eh... I guess so. Don't try and confuse me Domino I just write I don't really think to much about stuff xD In truth I hate the whole subject of Language Arts.. mainly reading and writing (not so much but still don't like essays etc.) Why I write I don't know.. maybe I do it just for you guys xD Seeing anything else I tried writing about sucks.

Lol we have something in comment there Sparrow. -hates litterature and english all together- That and math sucks to.

ф Chapter 3- Paddfoot ф

I looked to my right to see the wolf bounding back to the rest of the assembled pack, Shinhan shortly behind him. Shinhan sat down and looked at me then over at Ralf and Sparrow. “So, what did you want us all here for? I lost my snack thanks to you.” He said flatly.

I couldn’t help but roll my eyes in amusement to Shinhan’s tone. It’s not like he truly needed the food. I looked at Ralf and Sparrow, who were glancing at each other, to respond.

Sparrow turned her gaze from Ralf and she looked at Shinhan. “Ralf spotted wolves… from a nearby pack. Good news is, they don’t own this land nor does any pack we know of.”

I looked at Sparrow and tilted my head. “Well that’s the good news… what’s the bad news?”
Sparrow glanced at Ralf then looked at me. “They are very hostile… and from what we heard they wish to claim this land. Winter is coming and together as a pack I don’t think we have much strength left to hike around through these mountains if we could just stay here. So Ralf and I have decided to claim the land for the pack. And if the surrounding packs are much trouble then we’ll have to use our remaining strength to subdue them.”

I sat in silence at what the pack was just told. If the surrounding packs are much trouble we’ll subdue them… I looked around at my pack mates. Most nodded their heads in agreement but a few older wolves shook their heads. As if foreshadowing battles to come. I sighed and watched the pack disperse into various groups to talk about news of the pack and the situation. I stood up and started heading over to a rather large group but stopped half way. I didn’t want to be a part of the gossip. What happens next the pack will just have to be prepared for. I walked down a steady slope nearby to a stream, after glancing around I followed the water upstream out of boredom and curiosity.
